Moeen Ali’s marathon innings of 108 not out which lasted 281 balls wasn’t enough to save England from a series loss. Moeen was as close as possible to being rewarded for his batting but James Anderson’s dismissal on the penultimate ball of the Test saw the series go in to Sri Lanka’s hands

“I was thinking about it last night. I decided to take one ball at a time. I liked playing that way. Runs will keep coming if you look to play straight and be disciplined. Staying in the moment and be focused is very important,” said Moeen Ali.

It was a historic win for Sri Lanka as they have never won a Test series in England before. The victory was set up by Dhammika Prasad late on Day FOur when he ripped through the batting with four top order wickets.
