Moises Henriques was delighted to be back in the Australian set up to their tour of South Africa. The Portuguese-born all-rounder however expressed his regret at James Faulkner missing out on the tour and hoped that he would capitalise on his chances.

Henriques said he was looking to move on from his last outing for Australia, the disastrous India tour where the Aussies were thumped 4-0 and was also in awe of his compatriots’s clinical display against England, where they won 5-0.

The New South Wales all-rounder plays in Wednesday’s first of three Twenty20 International (T20) matches against England while South Australian Kane Richardson joins the squad as cover.

“Moises Henriques has shown some good form recently with both bat and ball and he provides a good fit when looking to replace James,” said national selector John Inverarity.

“The NSP (national selection panel) is hopeful that Faulkner will be fit for the three T20s  in South Africa and for the ICC World T20 2014 following as that is a key tournament for him.”
