Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid expressed his opinions on why India’ss victory at Lord’s was special. Dravid spoke on a range of issues from the Indian batting, the pace attack and what the win means for the series.

“It means a lot. In the recent past India haven’t won overseas for a long time. We lost 4-0 last tke we came to England and 4-0 in Australia. Came close to winning in South Africa and New Zealand. It’s a young team and is in transition. A lot of players haven’t played overseas a lot. So a win gives them great confidence and belief. It also gives the selectors confidence in the team and for the captain in his players,” Dravid said to former England’s woman cricketer Isa Guha in an interview posted by the official YouTube channel of ECB.

“You need fast bowlers to step up in overseas conditions. It was a huge plus to see Bhuvneshwar [Kumar] take six and Ishant [Sharma] take seven. India wins Tests at home because the spinners perform. But the fast bowlers haven’t been able to take five six in a game overseas consistently for a long time. To see two young players do that it was impressive,” he added.
