Jammu and Kashmir‘s run in the Ranji Trophy 2013-14 came to an end after crashing to a 100-run defeat against Punjab on the fourth day of their quarter-final match on Saturday. Punjab seamer VRV Singh snared a five-for as Punjab bowled out Jammu and Kashmir for 233 in their second innings.
In fact, Singh ran through the lower middle-order, dismissing skipper Parvez Rasool (10), Manzoor Dar (10), Obaid Haroon (0) and Samiullah Beigh (2) in quick succession to help Punjab win the crucial encounter. It has still been a great tournament for Jammu and Kashmir as not many expected them to reach the knock out stages this season.
