Russell Domingo: South Africa did not want to play rain curtalied T20I against Australia
South Africa coach Russell Domingo is disappointed at the fact that the second T20I against Australia at Durban was allowed to carry on despite rain interrupting the game and also maintained that his players were not in the mood to play a eight over game.
Domingo said that match referee Chris Broad was the one who told the match must be held.
Domingo said, “It was a little bit odd because both captains agreed to not give it a go because of the outfield, and the umpires decided not to give it a go,” as reported by CA website.
“I think it was overturned by the match referee. At the end of the day it turned out to be a great spectacle for the crowd, but there’s always a threat of serious injuries when conditions are like that. But it’s done now, and everyone’s ok.”
