Sri Lanka tour of England 2014: Alastair Cook vs Kumar Sangakkara
A video showcasing batting prowess of England captain Alastair Cook and former Sri Lankan captain and their batting mainstay Kumar Sangakkara.
England take on Sri Lanka in the two-match Test series, with the first Test starting at the historic Lord’s from June 12. While Sri Lanka will be aiming to erase the memories of the 1-0 loss during the last tour, England will be aiming for a fresh start under the captaincy of Alastair Cook.
This will be the first time England will take field without their star batsman Kevin Pietersen, and under new coach Peter Moores they will be aiming to put behind their shambolic performance in Australia and start afresh.
Sri Lanka would be riding high on confidence after their win by a margin of 3-2 in the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series which preceded the Test series. The controversial run out of England’s in-form batsman Jos Buttler, wherein he was Mankaded by Sri Lanka spinner Sachithra Senanayake created a lot of furore and it was said that the incident would spice up the Test series between the formerly ranked top Test side England and the team from the island nation.
