Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews addressed the media ahead of the first One-Day International (ODI) against Pakistan at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota. Sri Lanka take on visitors Pakistan in a three-match ODI series following their 2-0 Test series win.

The Test series, which was also Mahela Jayawardene’s last appearance in the longest format of the game, proved to be skewed in Sri Lanka’s favour as the Pakistan batsmen were unable to come to terms with the conditions in the Emerland Isle. Saeed Ajmal, who has long been Pakistan’s most potent weapon with the ball, is not a part of the first two ODIs following a suspect bowling action that has long been a point of contention for him.
