Before taking to cricket full time, de Villiers played a variety of other sports but found his calling with the gentleman’s sport. De Villiers is not just known for his exceptionally gifted batting skills but also his demeanour on and off the field. De Villiers, who is largely popular in India as well is currently playing for RCB in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. De Villiers is in great form in IPL 9. Kohli, his teammate in RCB had called ABD the finest batter of the current generation, around a month back. Kohli had said, “AB is the best batsman of our generation. It’s a pleasure to bat alongside him. The way he communicates, he’s a selfless person. He doesn’t care about his own plans, but helps people around him. He’s a better human being than a batsman.”
