England fast bowler Stuard Broad was honoured in the Queen’s Birhtday Honours List alongside skipper Alastair Cook. The tribute was paid by ECB Chairman Colin Graves. Stuart Broad has also been honoured with MBE for becoming the third highest wicket-taker in Tests after James Anderson and Ian Botham. He has currently taken 343 wickets in Tests. He has been impressive in this Test series having picked up 10 wickets. He is yet to pick up a wicket in this match. Broad made his Test debut in 2007 and has been a regular member in the side since then. Broad was ecstatic about the honor he received as he said, “It’s an honour and a privilege to be recognised in this way. I’m obviously delighted and very proud. It is a lovely moment for my family too. My parents will be delighted after guiding me into cricket and instilling me with a love of the game from an early age. Cricket has been a constant part of my life ever since and I would like to dedicate this honour to all the people that have supported me at different stages of my career. They’ve all helped me fulfil my dream of playing cricket for my country.”

England put up a total of 416 in the first innings of 3rd Test match at Lords. Sri Lanka finished at 1 for 162 at Day 2, Stumps. They are trailing by 254 runs currently.
