Pakistan batsman Umar Amin suffered a bran-freeze of epic proportions in the Asia Cup 2010 as he was run out by Bangladesh bowler Mahmudullah while casually strolling at the crease after completing an easy single. Pakistan were cruising at 135 for one in the 22nd over when the left-handed Amin drove the ball toward Shafiul Islam at long-off and set off for an easy single.
The fielder threw the ball back to the bowler, Mahmudullah, who collected it cleanly. By now Amin had completed the single, but rather than grounding his bat, he left the crease casually. Mahmudullah, who noticed this, immediately whipped off the bails and appealed. He was declared out by the third umpire, and Imran Farhat — the batsman at the other end — tapped his head to admonish him.
