2010 spot-fixing controversy breaks out

During the 2010 series between England and Pakistan, news broke out that some Pakistan players had received money for spot-fixing.

Later on, Mohammad Asif, Mohammed Aamer and Salman Butt found themselves in the centre of the controversy and were barred from playing then.

It was alleged that the two bowlers had accepted money to bowl a few no-balls in the Lord’s Test against England.

Four days after the Test match ended, the ICC suspended Butt, Asif and Aamer after charging them under various offences of the Anti-Corruption Code.
