After U-turn on retirement, Shahid Afridi asks ICC to delete his stats; set to make debut in Asia Cup T20

It was expected by those who have followed Shahid Afridi’s career over the years. The 16-year-old yesterday suggested that he might reconsider his retirement plans for the 16th time in his career after the ICC World T20 2016. And if this wasn’t enough, the man known for his bizarre ways has gone on to do the unthinkable! He has asked the game’s governing body, ICC to delete his old statistics and now wants to play his debut match in Asia Cup T20.

Fans were shocked with this request by Afridi. Taking cue from Afridi, commentary legend Ramiz Raja suggested on a live television debate that all records of Mohammed Yousuf be deleted because he isn’t a true Muslim and that only his runs scored as Yousuf Yohana be included in official records.

After many hours of confusion and uproar, Afridi himself spoke to the writer and informed, ”Yes, I want ICC to delete all my records. There was only one record, which I held dear, the fastest ODI hundred. But now that record has been broken twice, once by Corey Anderson and then by AB de Villiers.
