Ahead of Mumbai ODI, Imran Tahir sells all his property in Pakistan!

So then it’s down to final match and what a series it has turned out to be. Also thanks to some off field controversies, in particular, Shiv Sena’s anti-Pakistan stand, the organisers and ICC were compelled to send back Aleem Dar, Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar from the series, that has added only more eyeballs to this keenly contested battle of bat and ball.

While Dar, Akram and Shoaib have been sent back, there’s another man of Pakistani descent sitting anxiously in South Africa’s dressing room. Yes, Imran Tahir, the ICC ODI No.1 bowler is a nervous man. Born in Pakistan, Tahir’s has been a great story to say the least. He has emerged as one of the most potent leg spinners in the world, deceiving batsmen with his guile. Reportedly, he is afraid that if anyone from Shiv Sena comes to know of his Pakistani origins, he will be denied entry into Mumbai. As a result, Tahir has decided to clear all his links with Pakistan. He has even sold off all his property in Pakistan, which even included a few hens and goats. He doesn’t want to be associated with Pakistan any more for it could only worsen his chances of playing in India. Also, how can he risk his lucrative IPL contract with Delhi Daredevils! As per reports, he has also asked a few private hackers to change his biographies online and remove the fact that he was born and brought up in Pakistan.

However, Shiv Sena’s youth icon, Aditya Thackeray informed us that he was already aware of Tahir’s origins but he doesn’t mind Tahir playing till the time Virat Kohli and other Indian batsmen keep smacking him around the park like they did in Chennai.
