Anushka Sharma sends a ‘Thank You’ note to Yograj Singh

Right now every cricket fan is questioning the sanity of Yuvraj Singh’s father, former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh. His recent outburst against  Mahendra Singh Dhoni has left fans fuming, while Yuvraj has been left red faced. Yograj, who had earlier accused Dhoni of not deliberately picking Yuvraj in the World Cup squad, now called the Indian skipper arrogant and compared him to Ravana.

While Yograj’s verbal missiles have created a furore, it is believed that Yograj has won at least one supporter in Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma — Virat Kohli’s girlfriend. Why? Well, not just because his son Yuvraj had earlier requested on Twitter not to invade Anushka’s and Kohli’s private space. The main reason is the fact that Yograj reasoned out that Dhoni couldn’t win the game for India against Australia in the World Cup semi-final at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) as he was “scared” to bat at the top of the order. A close source to Anushka told this reporter, “Anushka was moved by Yograj sir’s comments because she feels there is finally someone who believes that she wasn’t at fault for India’s loss at the SCG.”

Yograj said, unlike the World Cup 2011 final where Dhoni stopped Yuvraj from going in to bat and himself went ahead and finished the match off, in 2015 semi-final the captain was scared and delayed his arrival against a stronger Australian side. Once again Ansuhka interpreted the subtext as “No, Anushka is not at fault.”

To appreciate the gesture, she mailed a “Thank you” note to Yograj. The same source confirmed, “Yes she has sent a thank you note, which has been posted to Chandigarh. There was a time she herself began to believe that she was at fault but Yograj sir’s removed all doubts in her mind.”

Her happiness was seen in her performance at the opening ceremony at Kolkata on Tuesday. It was a performance that not only brought smile to the face of Kohli, but also enthralled the 15,000 strong audiences.
