Not many batsmen have gone on to make it big in international cricket on their birthdays. Centuries on birthdays are rare. Bharath Seervi lists some quality batting performances on birthdays.

Every player wants to give their maximum effort in for their team, especially at international level. But when he takes field on his birthday, the expectations are higher, especially from their fans. The player is perhaps expected to put in that extra effort.

Only two men have registered Test double-hundreds on their birthdays. Patsy Hendren an unbeaten 205 against West Indies for England at Queen’s Park Oval on February 5, 1930 (his 41st birthday); it was also his solitary Test double century. The other one to do the same was Jason GIllespie on his 31st birthday in 2006. It remained his only Test hundred.
