Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosted Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK put up a decent total on board and Virat Kohli and co. had it in control until Dwayne Bravo changed the game with his superb bowling and fielding to help CSK win by 24 runs. Nikhil Popat brings  the highlights from the game.

Shrewd Starc takes out Sorry Smith: Dwayne Smith has had some trouble in the last few games and was out for a duck today in the very first over. Mitchell Starc, beat his bat four times in five balls and then cleaned him up with a perfect yorker. Smith was too late to react on a ball pitching in the line of off and middle stumps, and was into the dressing room too early for his liking. Suresh Raina-Faf du Plessis stand: Brendon McCullum again got a start but failed to carry on and make it a big one. That brought together Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis. Both of them took their time to get Chennai back on track, putting up a 64-run stand. Suresh Raina also brought up his 25th IPL fifty.

Royal comeback: Harshal Patel started the decline of CSK in their batting innings taking out both Raina and du Plessis in the same over. MS Dhoni and Pawan Negi did hit a few lusty blows to the fence but fell in search of quick runs. Chennai ended up losing seven wickets for just 50 runs to end with a score of 148 in 20 overs. None of the Chennai batsmen played through and that hurt them again. Cricket Scorecard: Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, Match 37 at Chennai

AB risk doesn’t pay off: AB de Villiers came in to bat at No. 3 and signalled his intents right from the word go as RCB went hard at the new ball. He kept finding the fence at regular intervals and Bangalore were 34 for one when de Villiers hit one hard again, but this time he found du Plessis at mid off to get out for a 14-ball 21. That wicket led to another one as Mandeep Singh was run-out without even facing a ball and that reduced RCB to 34 for three.

Dinesh Karthik-Virat Kohli go big: Coming in at a crucial time, Dinesh Karthik stepped up and he along with Virat Kohli put Royal Challengers Bangalore on track. Kohli was dropped on 25 by Ravindra Jadeja, when Kohli hit one back to the bowler but Jadeja could not hold onto it. Both of them added 63 runs together to put pressure on the CSK bowlers.

Dwayne Bravo’s hand of god: The game was just slipping away from CSK when Dwayne Bravo was called on to bowl. He struck in his first over but by a superb piece of fielding. Kohli hit one back at him, Bravo leaped up to collect, such was his presence of mind that he threw the ball back to at stumps at striker’s end and had Kohli short of the crease. That was a huge wicket and then Karthik pulled one off Nehra in the following over straight into the hands of square leg fielder to put Chennai back on top. The Chennai bowlers never let the intensity go after that and sealed the 24–run win.
