Cricket & Match-box: Two things unite Indians !

Everyone in India is fighting a tough battle with all possible problems and challenges. But one thing acts as a universal soothing balm to all our worries – cricket.  Especially when India wins!

Add Cricket Country as a Preferred Source

If at all there was a category called cricket in ones demographic-ethnic-caste form, we could easily be one of the largest and strongest vote banks in India, but the sad part is the cricket fan is often taken for granted. There are very few seats allocated to the common cricket fan in Stadiums; most of the seats are gobbled by the clubs, gymkhanas and the sponsors. The cricket fan’s opinion is seldom harnessed.

The cricket-crazy fan stands unflinchingly behind the Indian team at all times, even when sponsors don’t and commentators write off the team.

It’s time the Indian cricket fans came together and harnessed their powerful collective strength for the betterment of the game. It’s time the fans have a say in the hiring of players and coaches and also equity stake in the teams. It’s time the Indian cricket fan got his rightful due.

Imagine an under-16 team from Orissa having the potential to produce world class fast bowlers, but can’t due to lack of resources and finances. The united force of the cricket fans can help realize the dream for his local team and the National team at large.

They say there are two things that unite Indians: match-box and cricket! One can ask anyone for a light in India. Similarly, one can stop and ask anyone for the latest cricket score 🙂

Let’s stay united for us and for our religion that we call cricket.
