Jodi-No-1 (1)

David Dhawan is a popular Indian film director, who specialises in directing comedy films. He is mainly known for his films with Govinda and Jodi no. 1 is one of them. Released in April 2001, the film which stars Govinda and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles was a success at the box office. The plot of the comedy film revolves around two good friends who are conmen.

Inspired by the same, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), have decided to come up with their version of Jodi no. 1, starring their two openers – David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan. A couple of months back when India was touring Australia, they both rubbed each other the wrong way and had also got fined but it all seems that past is forgotten as the duo have been one of the main reasons for the side’s success in the IPL this season. With five wins, SRH still have a chance to make it to the play-offs and the side is heavily reliant on these two. In the 10 matches, the pair’s partnership has averaged 51.1 and they have scored runs at a rate of 9.1 an over.

The film is a SRH home production and will be directed by their head coach Tom Moody. The film will be about the chemistry between the Indian classical left hander and the Australian dasher; and how against all odds they have managed to dominate all other bowling attacks together.

With only four matches left, SRH will have to win at least three out of them to ensure a berth in the play-offs, the side will desperately hope for their Jodi no.1 of David-Dhawan to click big time.
