Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders IPL final on Sunday.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Knight Riders have a lot to think about as they go into this game. The Ace of Swords shows their strong game plans, yet feel under confident despite the positive backing from the team management. Rather than a collective team effort, they will be too reliant on individual performances. They will look to be aggressive and like the Chariot, will charge at the opposition in order keep their momentum going. It will be a tough fight.

Gautam Gambhir will be like the Strength card – in control of his innings and will look to dominate from the onset. As a captain, he looks uncertain and won’t be proactive in his decision making. Like the Fool, he will look to take risks, but he will find it hard to justify them. His team will be more independent with what they have to do, rather than expecting direction from their captain.

Key players

Brendon McCullum will play a good innings and bring about a strong start for the team. Like the High Priestess, he will look to bring out all that he has for this one final innings.

Jacques Kallis will be wayward and will require some time before he, like the Two of Wands, settles into a good partnership. A good day for him all round.

Yusuf Pathan will initially look confused but he will manage to steady himself and display his batting and bowling talents.

Manoj Tiwary will look shaky and despite the promise of the Judgement card, he won’t be able to capitalise on this.

Shakib Al Hasan will have a steady all round performance. He will, like the Ace of Wands, look to take risks with his bowling, which will pay off.

Lakshmipathy Balaji will bowl well and have good rhythm, but yet he may not be so lucky with the wickets. A day of hard work ahead.

Iqbal Abdulla will be like the Seven of Wands – on top of his game. A strong day for him.

Sunil Narine will be aggressive and a quick thinker. He will be tough to get away.

Chennai Super Kings

The Super Kings have it all. The right energy, the Hermit likewise plans and strong team work, but they’re still looking so nervous. They will need to be careful of this as their nerves could get the better of them. Luckily they’re blessed with the right team management, which will keep them composed like the Knight of Cups.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be like the Queen of Pentacles and Knight of Wands – strong, aggressive and fearless in his batting. He will give it his all and play with freedom. As a captain he, like the Six of Swords, is looking to steer his team towards success. He is looking balanced and unfazed. He will need to be a bit more proactive to get the best results out of his plans.

Key players

Michael Hussey will play a balanced innings and will accumulate runs at a brisk pace to enjoy a profitable day.

Murali Vijay will have a slow start and like the Five of Cups he should be careful of not letting this effect him as it may hinder his Sun-like potential to score big runs.

Suresh Raina will have a good day all round. Like the Seven of Wands, he will have a role to play in every area.

Ravindra Jadeja is hungry to succeed. He will look to bring out all his potential and display a good all round performance.

Dwayne Bravo will also do well. Like the Ace of Pentacles, he will look to take risks and will manage to make the most of his opportunities.

Albie Morkel will be another good all-rounder today. He will be quick in his thinking and will implement his plans calculatingly.

Ben Hilfenhaus will be an expensive bowler, but he will bring about break throughs.

Shadab Jakati is looking nervous, but with the Devil and Seven of Wands, he will fight this and will take to the challenge positively.

Who holds advantage?

Overall both teams have their own set of concerns. Each player has a strong desire to succeed for the team and make their contribution count. What it really comes down to is the temperament of both captains. Gautam Gambhir is feeling the nerves and showing it, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not expressing his anxieties. Instead, like the Temperance he is keeping emotions and practicality well balanced. Therefore it’s advantage to the Chennai Super Kings to be the IPL 5 champions.
