What would you do once you are eliminated from an edition of World Cup cricket — the grandest stage of the sport? Do you sit dejected in the pavilion the way Hansie Cronje did in 1999? Do you walk off the ground, sombre, stony-faced, like Viv Richards in 1987? Will you throw your bat away like Brian McMillan in 1992? Or do you create a ruckus like the Bangladesh fans earlier this year? What exactly do you do?

Probably one or many of these — provided you are not Chris Gayle. Gayle recorded a duet with Sulieman Benn. The lyrics read — check if you do not believe us — “Oops, we did it again!” Benn, not one to lose out on the fun, uploaded it on Instagram.

But Gayle was not one to be restricted to a duet with Benn. He went on to record another song, which he went on to upload on Instagram as well. Have a look for yourself.

What message does one have for his fans once his role in an episode of World Cup cricket? Something cliché like “thanks boys for their effort” or “the better team won” or the likes? Not Gayle. Trust him to come up with “It was fun while it lasted. #CWC15” accompanied by the usual cool-dude photograph.

Earlier during ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Gayle had been caught by a female police officer at Sydney. Gayle’s reaction had gone viral on social media: “Really hope I get the chance to meet Officer Annie again… No arrest was made. Such a nice pic together, next time lock me up and throw away the key. #CarefulWhatYouWishForChris”.

I’m not leaving…

This time he got another picture taken, with another policewoman, with a Gayle-ish update: “Oops.. I did it again. #SorryNotSorry”. Trust Gayle… ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Complete Coverage
