Trial by spin
Considering England players struggle against spinners, it’s no surprise Harbhajan Singh has great record against them, snaring 35 wickets at 24.40 with two five-wicket hauls.
Zaheer Khan has also been among wickets, accounting for 18.
Yuvraj’s part time spin has also fetched 18 wickets. Considering the fact that England is filled with right-handers, he would come in handy.
James Anderson leads the list for England with 26 wickets, but has an ordinary average of 33.23 at a slightly higher economy of 5.26. England’s trump card Graeme Swann has played only three matches claiming four wickets against India at 31 per wicket and an economy of 6.52.
Chinnaswamy factor
India has won 11 matches and lost four matches at this venue. England have won two of the three matches played at Chinnaswamy against India.
Of the 18 matches played here, eight times team batting first have gone on to win the match and its the same for team that has successfully chased a target. The average score batting first is 264 and its 261 for team batting second. When playing under lights, the average score goes up to 273. So expect a high scoring tight game.
