Following an emphatic 45-run win over Bangladesh in the opening tie of the Asia Cup T20 2016 on Wednesday, India dished out defeat to arch rivals Pakistan in the 4th match of the tournament at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Saturday, beating them by 5 wickets, thus making it two in a row for India, and enhancing their chances for the final. However, Pakistan, who played their first game of the tournament, suffered a tough fate as they once again succumbed to a defeat at the hands of the arch rivals in their opening tie. Despite the easy win by India, the second innings of the match too produced some highlights, just like the first innings, as Ayush Gupta takes his time out to list them. Mohammad Aamer’s shocking opening over of 2 for 2: The fierce fast bowler from Pakistan has never backed out to grab headlines ever since his comeback to the national side, following his completion of the five-year ban. After troubling England in the limited-overs series in January, it was India’s turn to face the tough Aamer test, and they got the taste of his fierce bowling, when he quickly chalked out a couple of wickets in the opening over of the Indian innings, dismissing openers Rohit Sharma (0) and Ajinkya Rahane (0) early, putting pressure on the Indians to make sure that the chase of 83 runs was not a cakewalk for them. Mohammad Aamer’s economical spell for 3/18: Aamer, who claimed the three crucial wickets of Rohit and Rahane, came back in the third over to get rid of Suresh Raina (1), thus taking his wickets tally to 3 for the evening, instantly piling more agony and pressure on the Indian batting. For the moment it seemed the paltry target of 83 is a far from reach milestone. However, it turned out to be the final wicket for Aamer, as he failed to grab any further wickets in the remaining couple of overs, despite bowling his heart out. In the end he finished with 4-0-18-3. Live Cricket Updates: India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup T20 2016, Match 4 at Dhaka

Virat Kohli’s match-winning knock of 49: Once again Virat Kohli played his part in the victory of India, as it was his match-winning knock of 49 that allowed India to come out after Aamer’s blitz. He saw off Aamer’s spell and played steadily, pacing his innings perfectly and never letting the other bowlers to get on top. He missed out on his 13th T20I by just a run, before falling to Mohammad Sami. His innings came off 51 deliveries and included 7 boundaries.

Virat Kohli-Yuvraj Singh’s impressive partnership of 68: While Kohli guided India to victory, Yuvraj made sure that wickets did not fall at the other end. While Kohli played his strokes, Yuvraj played the foil, helping Kohli add 68 for the fourth wicket before Kohli fell for 49. In the end he remained unbeaten.

Wahab Riaz’s horrible over of 15 runs: After Aamer built up the pressure, the other Pakistan bowlers needed to back him up. Wahab, unfortunately, conceded 15 runs (including 3 boundaries) in his first over, releasing the pressure almost instantly. Pakistan were never in the match after that.
