India and South Africa get ready for another round of cricket in the Gandhi–Mandela Series 2015, with the third Test at Nagpur starting on Wednesday. With the second Test at Bengaluru washed out, Team India’s chances for completing a series whitewash against South Africa went down the drain. South Africa have some luck on their side as they have now a somewhat outside chance to win and level at the series, before the decider at Delhi. India, after winning emphatically at Mohali, will want no South African phoenix rising and burning their lead into ashes. India and South Africa are in all readiness to go out for full-blown war in the third Test at Jamtha, Nagpur. Vishal Mehra lists out some of the likely key battles for tomorrow. FULL CRICKET CORECARD: India vs South Africa 2015, 3rd Test at Nagpur

Murali Vijay vs Morne Morkel: Murali Vijay has looked the most comfortable of batsman for India so far in the series, and he will want to score big and add on to his ever growing list of hundreds. Morne Morkel, in his only match at Bengaluru, looked just fine in his bowling. He would want to stamp his authority in the series which has only been dominated by spinners. With Dale Steyn still doubtful, Morkel will surely need to step up and take the mantle of spearhead. ALSO READ: India vs South Africa 2015, 3rd Test at Nagpur — Preview

Cheteshwar Pujara vs Imran Tahir: At Mohali, Cheteshwar Pujara  played with much determination and grit on a pitch which was was a dust bowl. While many batsmen struggled to find their feet, Pujara stood out and made sure that India attained a good lead to bowl out South Africa. Imran Tahir, who is South Africa’s most successful bowler in the series so far, will look to improve on his wickets tally as his Indian counterparts are making merry. Tahir has struggled to adjust to the Test format and playing against India in India is never an easy task.  Tahir has the psychological advantage going into the match as he had picked up Pujara the last time they clashed on the field.  India vs South Africa 2015, 3rd Test at Nagpur: Likely XI for the hosts

Ravichandran Ashwin vs AB de Villiers: Ravichandran Ashwin has been the thorn in AB de Villiers path to glory in India since beginning of the tour. Ashwin has had the better of de Villiers and in all likeliness, he will continue to trouoble the ace South African batsman.  On the other hand, de Villiers, would like to make sure that he uses all his experience and knowledge to keep Ashwin out from snatching his wicket again. This surely will be the battle to look out for.

Ravindra Jadeja vs Hashim Amla: Ravindra Jadeja has looked a different bowler from what he was a year or so ago. Jadeja has not just bamboozled batsmen with his craft at times made them look foolish; this is where that Hashim Amla comes in (the dismissal in the second innings at Mohali). Amla, who is one of best batsmen in world cricket, will want to prove his class and caliber against the might of Indian spinners. He is also going through a lean patch, and South Africa desperately need Amla to perform. Amla had scored 253 when he was here last time around, and with South Africa needing a spirited performance from their skipper, this looks like an ideal time to come out announce himself in the series.
