Having already won the series, India continued their ruthless run in the series. They once again finished on top to destroy Sri Lanka by 168 runs in the fourth of the five-match ODI, series at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday. In fact, this turned out to be the worst defeat for Sri Lanka at home in terms of runs: they lost by a whopping 268 runs. As India extended their lead in the series by 4-0, let us have a look at some of the talking points from this tie. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs Sri Lanka 2017 4th ODI at Colombo

The Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma storm: Rohit made the opportunity count and scored a robust 104, allowing India to set the platform for a big scoring total. He faced only 88 balls, and 11 fours and 3 sixes. He was also involved in a massive 219-run stand for the second wicket along with skipper Virat Kohli, pushing Sri Lanka to the back-foot. However, the partnership was dominated by Kohli, whose 131 came off a mere 96 deliveries including 17 fours and 2 sixes. Rohit, usually an enforcer, contributed a mere 83 in the stand, the highest for the second wicket at Premadasa. En route his destructive hundred, Kohli went past Sanath Jayasuriya s tally of 28 hundreds. Sachin Tendulkar (49 hundreds) and Ricky Ponting (30) are the only ones ahead of him at this stage.

Landmark for Lasith Malinga: Kohli s blitzkrieg came to an end when he holed out to sweeper cover off stand-in Sri Lankan captain Lasith Malinga. In the process Malinga became the fourth Sri Lankan (after Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas and Sanath Jayasuriya) to take 300 ODI wickets. However, Malinga surprisingly held himself back after a brief 3-over spell when Rohit and Kohli had cut loose. FULL CRICKET UPDATES: India vs Sri Lanka 2017 4th ODI at Colombo

The Manish Pandey-MS Dhoni cameos: He barely gets a chance to play, but whenever he does, Pandey seldom fails to impress. Today s unbeaten 50 came off 42 balls. At the other end, Dhoni set a new world record of most unbeaten innings, finishing with 49 not out from 42 balls. The pair added an unbroken 101 in 74 balls.

Dhoni s double-DRS: Dhoni insisted on a referral when a ball from debutant Shardul Thakur came down the leg to him. The replays revealed an edge, giving Thakur his first wicket and sending Niroshan Dickwella back. Soon afterwards, Dhoni convinced Kohli to review again for an edge, and Dilshan Munaweera was declared caught behind off Jasprit Bumrah. Angelo Mathews calm: Sri Lanka were never in the run in pursuit of 376. Mathews was the only one to show some gumption, playing with a calm head for his 70, which allowed Sri Lanka to get past the 200-run mark. His 73-run partnership with Milinda Siriwardana was the only face-saving one in an otherwise unprofessional Sri Lankan chase. Mathews eventually hit Akshar Patel straight to third-man.
