It has been a phenomenal performance by the visiting Indian side. They have dominated hosts Sri Lanka in every department in both Tests and ODIs. And now, they struck the final nail in the coffin when they beat the Lankans again, this time by 7 wickets, in the one-off T20I at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal kept a leash on the Sri Lankans, jolting them at crucial moments. Then, after India lost two quick wickets, Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey dominated with bat. They made sure India registered their first ever tour whitewash across three formats. Let us have a look at the highlights the match did produce and was an interesting one. Dilshan Munaweera s 53: The Sri Lankans played some outrageous shots, but almost none of them went on to big. Munaweera stood firm amidst that, scoring 53 off just 29 deliveries including 5 fours and a six. His 37-run stand for the third wicket with Ashan Priyanjan consolidated things for Sri Lanka.

Ashan Priyanjan s 40: As Munaweera launched into the Indian attack, Priyanjan dropped anchor at the other end, contributing a mere 12 in the 37-run stand. Yuzvendra Chahal s 3 for 43: One may credit MS Dhoni for the fantastic stumping of Angelo Mathews, but there was no doubt that Chahal did an excellent job. He got both Mathews and Thisara Perera, both of whom could have taken Sri Lanka past 200.

Virat Kohli s 82: The Indian openers failed, but Kohli was almost predictably fantastic. His 82 came off just 54 deliveries. He hit 7 fours and a six, but more importantly, he ran so hard that there were a mere 7 dot balls in these 54. The 119-run stand for the third wicket between Kohli and Pandey sealed the match for India. Virat Kohli becomes 3rd-highest run-getter in T20I

Manish Pandey s 51: Whenever he is given a chance, Pandey leaves no stones unturned to perform and make his presence felt. Here, his 51 not out came off 36 balls, and included 4 fours and a six.

India s first ever tour whitewash: India have won all 9 matches on the tour 3-0 in Tests, 5-0 in ODIs, and now 1-0 in T20Is. This was India s first ever tour clean sweep involving all three formats. What is more, they are also the first visiting team to achieve the feat. It was also the seventh instance in world cricket till date, the last tour whitewash coming from New Zealand against Bangladesh last winter.
