India lock horns with West Indies once again but this time in that too at Regional Park Stadium, Lauderhill of Florida at United States of America. Earlier, India won the Test series by 2-0. Though West Indies were on the losing end in the Test series, they have an excellent T20I side, full of all-rounders and match-winners. On paper, West Indies surely looks better than Indian side but with these top teams clashing against each other, full of thrill and excitement is expected along with lots of entertainment. 1. This will be the first time West Indies will be playing under a new captain since 2011. Former captain Darren Sammy led the West Indies side in T20Is from 2011 to 2016, which is the longest term as captain for the Caribbean side in this format of the game.

2. Carlos Brathwaite will become the eighth player to captain West Indies in T20Is. Other seven were Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Floyd Reifer, Dinesh Ramdin, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and Darren Sammy. 3. Dwayne Bravo needs only one more wicket to become third cricketer to reach the double of 1,000 runs and 50 wickets in T20Is after Shahid Afridi and Shakib-Al-Hasan.

4. There have been four T20Is played at Lauderhill, Florida. Interestingly, first two matches were low-scoring, while other two were high-scoring. In first two matches, only once the total moved above 100 and in rest four innings, scoreboard never touched three figures. While in other two matches, team total in first innings were 209 and 177.

5. Three out of four T20Is at Lauderhill, Florida were won by the team who batted first. Also, this is the first time when India and West Indies are playing a T20I series consisting of more than one match.

6. In the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016, six T20 matches were played at this venue. Average first innings score at this venue in tournament is 170. 7. Opener Chris Gayle’s scores in last four T20Is are 4, 5, 4, DNB but in the recently concluded CPL 2016, he was the highest run-getter for his team with 425 runs in 13 matches at 42.5 and third highest run-getter of the tournament.

8. So far, India and West Indies have played five T20Is against each other in which the Caribbean side won thrice and the other team winning on two occasions.

9. From West Indies, Lendl Simmons has most runs against India in T20Is with 162 runs from four matches, whereas from India, Virat Kohli holds that record, with 157 runs from three matches.

11: Darren Sammy has the best bowling figures for West Indies against India, which is 4 for 16 in 2011. On the other hand, Ashish Nehra has the best bowling figures for an Indian bowler against West Indies with figures of 3 for 35 in 2010. Interestingly, both are not included in their respective sides for this T20I series.
