A well in-form India Women’s team take on Bangladesh Women’s team as they start their ICC Women’s World T20 2016 campaign on Tuesday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. India Women have a balanced line-up currently, with in-form, talented cricketers in their side and are expected to do well. With back-to-back victories in the past few months, the team is one of the toughest competitors in the series and will look to start it with a win. Paulami Chakraborty here lists the probable XI for the series opener against the Bangladesh Women. Live Cricket Score, India Women vs Bangladesh Women, 1st T20 Match, Group B at Bangalore

Top-order: With skipper and champion opener Mithali Raj at top, India Women will have a serious boost at the top. Mithali has been one of the finest cricketers India has produced, and has shattered record after record throughout her career. She will be partnered by, in all probability, Vellaswamy Vanitha, provided Smriti Mandhana does not open. The two are quite compatible and understand each other’s game well enough to be able to build a strong partnership. At No. 3, India will have Smriti, currently in outstanding form.

Middle-order: The main strength of India’s middle order is Harmanpreet Kaur. ‘Harmy’ has proved herself time and again to be one of the most dependable batsmen of the team and has played crucial knocks after a top-order collapse to save the match. She will be backed up by Veda Krishnamurthy, Thirushkamini MD and Rajeshwari Gayakwad (though it seems Thirushkamini may be left out), all of whom can perform when chips are down.

Bowlers: India’s bowling attack will be spearheaded by the experienced Jhulan Goswami. Jhulan is currently the top-ranked bowler in ICC T20I rankings, and is typically lethal in her first spell. The other two most effective bowlers have to be Shikha Pandey and Deepti Sharma who provide India with important wickets. Spinner Ekta Bisht will complete the combination.

India Women’s Likely XI: Mithali Raj (c), Sushma Verma (wk), Vellaswamy Vanitha, Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Veda Krishnamurthy, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami, Deepti Sharma, Ekta Bisht.
