The previous highest seventh-wicket partnership against Durham was 301 by Chris Lewis and Bruce French in 1993.

The seventh wicket pair of Jonathan Bairstow and Tim Bresnan added an unbroken 366 for Yorkshire against Durham at Chester-le-Street on June 29, 2015. Bharath Seervi highlights this records the partnership has set with more statistics and records related to First-Class cricket and County Championship.

All of them crossed 10, but none exceeded 40 — till Jonathan Bairstow (No. 5) and Tim Bresnan (No. 8) got together. Bairstow slammed 219 not out and Bresnan 169 not out to take Yorkshire from 191 for 6 to 557 for 6 and change the course of the match. The partnership was worth an unbroken 366.

It is currently the third-highest partnership for the seventh wicket in First-Class cricket and the highest for the seventh wicket in First-Class cricket in England. The highest still remains 460 between Bhupinder Singh and Pankaj Dharmani for Punjab against Delhi at Kotla in Ranji Trophy 1994-95 in India. At second slot is 371 between Mitchell Marsh and Sam Whiteman for Australia A against India A at Brisbane in 2014.
