Michael Carberry’s woeful relationship with bats continue

The Twenty20 (T20) format gives you no breathing space. It demands a batsman to go after the bowlers and smash each and every ball out of the park. It’s something that England batsman Michael Carberry tried to do while playing for Perth Scorchers against Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL)

Kane Richardson was bowling and Carberry was facing him. As Richardson delivered the ball, Carberry stepped out and swung his bat. What happened next – the bat slipped out of his hand, went up up in the air and fell on the ground. The ball on the other hand landed safely in the hands of the wicketkeeper.

A shocked and amused Carberry looked at his hands. Richardson, and other Adelaide Strikers players couldn’t control their laughter and so couldn’t the commentators.

During 2013-14 Ashes, Carberry bat was broken into two halves while he tried to defend a Ryan Harris delivery. Seems like Carberry has a slippery relationship with his bats!
