5th Indian batsman to score 6 fifty plus scores in a series and first since 1982-83 KL Rahul. The other four Indians to achieve this feat are Rusi Modi (6 against West Indies in 1948-49), Polly Umrigar (6 against West Indies in 1952-53), Sunil Gavaskar (7 against West Indies in 1970-71) and Mohinder Amarnath (6 against Pakistan and West Indies, both in 1982-83). Rahul is also the second Indian and 4th overall to do this in India after Modi (mentioned above), Everton Weekes (6 in 1948-49) and Kim Hughes (6 in 1979-80). The previous two such instances happened in 2000-01, when VVS Laxman and Matthew Hayden scored above 400; and in 1979-80 Border, Gavaskar, Hughes and Graham Yallop all scored 400 runs.

3rd cricketer to achieve the double of 500-run-50-wicket double in a season Jadeja. The two others were Kapil (535 and 63 in 1979-80) and Mitchell Johnson (527 and 60 in 2008-09). Jadeja also now holds the record for taking most wickets (70) among those who have scored 500 runs in that same season.
