Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings game – the first of the two IPL matches on Sunday.

Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians are feeling the pressure taking on Chennai Super Kings at home. The Ten of Swords and the Five of Wands shows them wanting to implement their plans aggressively. This may not be the best strategy. Instead they will require a juggling of combinations to get things right today.

The Two of Cups explains that they will build strong partnerships, giving them success.

As a bowler, Harbhajan Singh will require good support from his fielders, especially since he has the Ace of Pentacles showing that his risks will pay off. In his captaincy, Harbhajan will depend on his team players for important advice.

Key players

Sachin Tendulkar, like the Hermit, will have a cautious start, which will grow into a stable innings. He will put up a strong fight today.

Ambati Rayudu will be fiery, energetic and like the Nine of Pentacles will make some important runs. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to maintain his momentum.

Rohit Sharma must capitalise on the opportunity received today. He has the Magician, the Ten of Pentacles and Cups supporting him in a confident all round performance. A good day for him to see it through.

James Franklin will be another important player today. He too is blessed with the Magician but will go about his innings in an aggressive manner.

Lasith Malinga will have a shaky start, but his energy and enthusiasm will bring him rewards.

Munaf Patel will be too aggressive and will require a balanced individual to direct him well. He too will have a good day despite the spurts of waywardness.

Chennai Super Kings

The Super Kings are calm and have thought out this match in detail. The High Priestess shows their ability go that extra mile and push themselves that extra bit to achieve success. They come onto the field with a strong drive and hunger to make this match count for them.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will have a sedate start with the bat, after which there will be signs of the aggressor, as explained by the Chariot. There will aggression in his captaincy too, especially since his desire to succeed is very strong.

Key players

Suresh Raina will have a weak day, especially since his energy will be misdirected.

Albie Morkel will be strong and active. Like the Ace and Seven of Pentacles, he will take calculated risks and receive rewards for it.

Francois du Plessis will, like the Judgement card, have a strong start, but will be unable to capitalise on it.

Ben Hilfenhaus will have a very good day. An important player who will bring the Super Kings some important gains. He like the Strength card will have good control over his game.

Dwayne Bravo will start off balanced and in sync with expectations, but he will find it tough to sustain this.

Subramaniam Badrinath will, like the King of Pentacles have a strong start and will accumulate runs at a brisk pace.
