India were expected to win the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against the touring South Africans but that didnât happen. However the One-Day International (ODI) series will be a different ball game and much of both sidesâ success will depend on how the batting department fares.
Both the sides are loaded up with world-class batsmen and starting Sunday, one can truly expect a run feast. Letâs have a look at the Indian batsmen and what their ODI batting records have to say.
| Players | M | R | HS | Ave | SR | 100s | 50s |
| Virat Kohli | 161 | 6586 | 183 | 50.67 | 89.59 | 22 | 33 |
| Rohit Sharma | 138 | 4312 | 264 | 39.20 | 82.46 | 7 | 12 |

While India boasts of a very strong batting line-up, South Africans will be up for it. In AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla, they have two of the best limited-overs batsmen but countering Indian spinners wonât be an easy task for them. Letâs look at the stats of South African batsmen.

| AB de Villiers | 190 | 8045 | 162* | 53.27 | 99.16 | 20 | 47 |
