Tarot reader Shruti Chopra looks into her cards to give CricketCountry.com readers exclusive insights into what lies ahead in the IPL matches. In the below piece, she dwells into the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Chennai Super Kings game – the second of the two IPL matches on Monday.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Ten of Swords shows the disappointment the Knight Riders are carrying through from the previous game. They do realise the importance of this game, hence the sound advice being received from the team management, which they will diligently look to apply. In fact, they will put in every ounce of effort to put up a challenge against the Super Kings.

Gautam Gambhir will have a slow start. It will be this slowness that will get to Gambhir. He will need to feed off the positivity exuding from theWheel of Fortune to make his innings count. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to sustain this. As a captain he will be mentally disturbed and will require, like the Three of Cups, constant motivation rather than being the motivator.

Key players

Brendon McCullum will play a strong, calculative and wise innings. He will be able to manipulate his batting to the situation. A good day for him.

Jacques Kallis will be like the Justice – he will look to balance his aggression by intelligently channelising his innings.

Yusuf Pathan will be aggressively motivated and will have the ability to change things around for the team.

Debabrata Das will vary from the Knight of Cups to the Magician. He will remain stable yet be aware of when to accelerate and will be successful in doing so.

Shakib al Hassan will adapt his game well. He will match up to expectations of stability and prove to be an important player.

Sunil Narine will have a good start. He will bring about results but will need to be aware of keeping his bowling simple. Trying too much will mean leaking away unnecessary runs.

Chennai Super Kings

The Super Kings are looking to continue this change in momentum for them and with this thought they will show moments of anxiety, despite having the right game plans in place. The Queen of Swords does show them developing command over the game and stepping up to the challenge. They will be encouraged by this and will play a positive game.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will have a good day with the bat. He will come with strong plans and wise intentions, yet like the Fool, he will take risks which will pay off. He will grow in his innings. As a captain, he will feel burdened by the ups and downs of the game and like the Ten of Wands Swords will find it a tough task to handle. Luckily for him, the team will perform well despite this.

Key players

Suresh Raina will have a balanced innings. He will do well through a sensible batting display.

Dwayne Bravo will take risks which will pay off and with the Lovers card showing up, he will be part of a strong partnership. He will also score at a brisk pace.

Ravindra Jadeja will have the right control over his game. He will adapt himself well and will have a successful day.

Albie Morkel will stick to his plans of being aggressive and hounding the opposition like the Moon. A productive day for him all round.

Ben Hilfenhaus will bowl well in tandem and will respond to the team’s needs. He will need to stay focused to maintain consistency as he will prove to be expensive at times.

Shadab Jakati will have moments where he won’t be economical, despite this, he will take risks with his bowling, which will bring with it success.

Who holds the advantage?
