Kedar Jadhav smacked 5 fours and as many sixes BCCI

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) trumped Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 15 runs in the fifth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, with Kedar Jadhav shining with the bat. Jadhav hammered 5 sixes and as many boundaries to score a rapid 37-ball 69, which made up for an ordinary performance with the bat for the home side, empowering them with a total which proved to be more than enough against the Delhi Daredevils. Rishabh Pant scored a fabulous 57 for his side, but his effort did not prove to be enough for the visiting side as Delhi Daredevils succumbed to defeat in a game where they should have won. With this win, RCB have a win and a defeat in two matches so far in IPL 10. Let us take a look at the highlights. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Delhi Daredevils (DD), IPL 2017 Match 5

Sanju Samson s acrobatics: Samson proved to be too good when Chris Gayle thought he had enough on the shot to clear the fielder positioned at mid-off. A full-toss outside the off-stump was something which Gayle would always go after, but this time, the connection was on the higher part of the bat. The ball looked like flying over Samson, but the fielder pulled off an acrobatic catch, covering some part of the ground and pulling off the catch diving to his right.

Kedar Jadhav s assault: Thanks to Jadhav s innings, RCB were able to get something to bowl at. Jadhav was brutal against all Delhi Daredevils bowlers, especially Amit Mishra, who had a forgettable day. In one over from Mishra, Jadhav hammered as many as 24 runs, which included 2 sixes and as many boundaries. However, the highlight of Jadhav s innings was his inside-out six over cover off Carlos Brathwaite, which looked spectacular as the batsmen brought out the bat just in the right time. Jadhav was belligerent against spinners and fast bowlers alike, hammering 5 sixes and as many boundaries in his match-winning effort. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.

Rishabh Pant s heroics: Pant has stood tall against all adversities of late. The 19-year-old suffered a personal tragedy when he lost his father just a few days back. But Pant decided to return to the field and do what he knows the best: smacking the bowlers around the park.

Pant began with a powerful six on the leg-side off the first ball, and no RCB bowler was spared as he used brute force and technique to collect his runs. Pant went on to score 57 off 36 balls studded with 4 sixes and 3 boundaries, but he ran out of partners and could not finish the job all by himself. Rishabh Pant’s heroics in vain; Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs

The good old Shane Watson: Having exhausted all his fast bowlers, the stand-in captain for RCB decided to take matters in his own hands when Delhi Daredevils needed 21 off the last two overs. Watson bowled a terrific penultimate over, pinning down Amit Mishra on the strike and allowing a mere 2 runs, and sealed the game for his side.

A forgettable day for Mishra-ji: Mishra had a torrid time on Saturday, proving costly with the ball and then failing to rotate the strike and give Pant more chances to bat, especially in the second last over. Mishra gave away 32 runs off 2 overs, with Jadhav smashing as many as 24 off one. Mishra remained unbeaten on 8 off 14, but Delhi Daredevils would not be too pleased with his effort.

Pawan Negi is here: Watson decided to give the ball to that bowler for the final over who had not bowled even once. But Negi started off by cleaning up Pant around his legs, and also took the wicket of Shahbaz Nadeem. He finished the last over with 2 for 3, sealing the game for his side.

Heroes will be back?: During the presentation ceremony, Watson threw a bomb when he said the RCB heroes Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will be back for the next match. However, Watson soon added that he is not a reliable source, but he did provide some hope to the RCB fans at the end of a tough win.
