Scorecard: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
Chris Gayle’s good start and abrupt end: Chris Gayle continued from where he left in the previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He played some good strokes and RCB had raced to 43 inside six overs. However, Gayle then smashed one to square-leg and was out caught. That took the momentum off the RCB innings. Ravi Bopara’s double-wicket over: Virat Kohli had gotten his eye in and was looking good for 41. But the 12th over, bowled by Ravi Bopara changed things for SRH. Kohli was out bowled and then Mandeep Singh perished first ball. Those two wickets shook RCB, who had thin batting resources. Darren Sammy was slated at No. 6 and Sean Abbott was at No. 7. That left AB de Villiers with a lot to do on his own. IPL 2015: Points Table and Team Standings
AB de Villiers’ combative innings: AB de Villiers was at his usual attacking best. His 46 off 28 balls contained five fours and two sixes. That innings helped make up for those wickets in the middle overs and took RCB to a decent score. Some of the shots he played were dazzling. IPL 2015: Schedule with venue details
Trent Boult strikes at the death: The 19th over, which was bowled by Trent Boult also helped SRH restrict RCB. Yuzvendra Chahal’s economical spell: Amidst the carnage, the leggie Yuzvendra Chahal managed figures of two for 28 in four overs. In those circumstances, they were good numbers and he managed to bowl very well. He dismissed Warner and also managed to fox Kane Williamson.
KL Rahul’s flashy knock: KL Rahul has made a name as a good player in the longer format. His credentials in the shortest format weren’t well known, but on the day, he hit 44 off 28 balls and finished the game. The great part about this knock was that he played good cricketing shots. Shikhar Dhawan’s calming essay: With Warner smashing it around, Dhawan took a backseat and managed to play himself in. In a way, he held the innings together which allowed Warner and Rahul to play their strokes. A fifty was a just reward for his effort. A Warner-Dhawan partnership at the top is a dangerous proposition for any opposition. IPL 2015: Complete Coverage
