Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are on a mission in the later stages of IPL. Under Virat Kohli, they are performing exceptionally well in the past few matches trying to make it to the IPL 2016 playoffs. Virat Kohli is determined to take his side into the final four, and his role will be extremely crucial along with the one of AB de Villiers. Having shared six hundred plus partnerships in IPL 2016 so far, they are the backbone of the RCB side. On the other side, Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) performance has been far from impressive in the tournament.  They have failed miserably in the tournament, and now they may play the role of spoil-sports in the tournament, hampering other teams’ chances to get into IPL 9 playoffs. Live Cricket Scorecard: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kings XI Punjab, IPL 2016 Match 50 at Bengaluru

Their star players, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Shaun Marsh, Mitchell Johnson have failed to perform as they were expected to. Hashim Amla showed some spark scoring 96 runs in the last match, apart from that Akshar Patel has produced some match-winning bowling figures to save the side from humiliation. This is again a do-or-die situation for RCB and they are looking impressive in every aspect of the game compared to Kings XI Punjab. There will be some fierce battles deciding the fate of the match.

Virat Kohli vs Sandeep Sharma: Virat Kohli is in splendid form and looks like an invincible batsman who can win the game for his side from any situation. He has broken the record for most runs in a single IPL season having scored 752 runs in 12 matches which includes three centuries. He has found his perfect partner in de Villiers, thrashing the opponents. On the other hand, Sandeep Sharma is the leading wicket-taker for Kings XI Punjab with 13 wickets in his bag already. Kohli struggles against swing and might find it tough to get going if Sandeep gets the ball moving early on in the innings.

AB de Villiers vs Akshar Patel: de Villiers is the second leading run-scorer in the tournament with 597 runs under his belt. He has already shared six 100 plus partnerships with Kohli including a hundred against Gujarat Lions. He shared a record 229-run stand with the skipper. On the other hand Akshar Patel has performed recently well in the tournament picking wickets in crunch situation, and he will remain key to stop the rampaging Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsmen.

Hashim Amla vs Chris Jordan: Amla played a classical innings of 96 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have a perhaps the most lethal attack in IPL 9. He was included in the side midway this season and might play the role of a spoiler for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chris Jordan was also included in the side midway and has led the shaky RCB bowling attack, with his disciplined line and lengths.

Chris Gayle vs KC Cariappa: Chris Gayle got back in the form scoring 49 in the must-win situation against Kolkata Knight Riders. He blasted 4 sixes and 5 fours to give the team a platform to work on while chasing the target of 184. This is a good news for RCB, Gayle coming back into the form before crucial matches. Punjab’s Kariappa has played well lately picking up wickets and not leaking too many runs and luring batsman to hit him over the top and getting them out early on. Gayle versus Cariappa will be a contest to watch out for.
