Tendulkar wasn’t yet awarded the Bharat Ratna, but in 2012, Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced that the cricketer was to be bestowed with the Order of Australia.

In doing so, Tendulkar became only the second Indian after Soli Sorabjee, to get such an honour from Australia. Amul, in their ad stated that Tendulkar had won the “Aadar of Australia!” Aadar in Hindi means ‘love and respect’.
