There have been several funny run-outs in the history of cricket. This run-out of Samit Patel is probably going to be ranked among the top 10. The above video is from a county match between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire at Trent Bridge in April 2013. Patel was batting along with James Taylor when he drove one on the up and set off for a single. Even before Taylor could leave his crease at the non-striker’s end, Patel was halfway down and slipped in the middle of the pitch. He sat there helplessly watching the wicketkeeper run him out.
