With 7 wins in their 10 matches, the David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are currently placed at the top spot in the IPL 2016 Points Table. On Thursday night, they will be clashing against a team which has shown remarkable improvement across departments, and stands a very strong chance to make it to the IPL 9 playoffs. Delhi Daredevils (DD) have won 5 games out of 9, and currently, they are at the fifth position in the IPL 9 Points Table. They clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad. Let’s take a look at the key battles for this game. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Delhi Daredevils (DD), IPL 2016, Match 42 at Hyderabad

David Warner versus Zaheer Khan: Yes, this is a clash between the two captains. Both Warner and Zaheer have led from the front and this will be an interesting battle to watch out for. While Warner has been inspirational with his captaincy, Zaheer has been quite exceptional with his captaincy skills. Zaheer has set funky fields, and has rotated his bowlers well enough to pull off a few wins in this IPL. Warner is one of the leading run-scorers in this tournament and Delhi would know in order to win they will have to get rid of the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) captain cheaply. Who better than Zaheer to do that? ALSO READ: Clash of two incredibly smart captains: David Warner and Zaheer Khan

Shikhar Dhawan vs Amit Mishra: The two Indian cricketers have done well for their respective sides in IPL 2016. While Dhawan has managed to put behind an inconsistent run which saw him many far too many single-digit scores, Mishra has been terrific with the ball. Along with Imran Tahir, the right-handed Indian leg-spinner has been able to create a lot of pressure which has resulted in wickets. Dhawan in his prime is a treat to watch, and with Mishra being a leggie who will try and get the ball into the left-hander, it will be an interesting contest to watch out for. Kane Williamson versus Imran Tahir: It remains to be seen what bowling combination Delhi Daredevils (DD) decide to go for in the game on Thursday night. But if Tahir plays, he will pose some serious threat to the right-handed Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) batsmen. Kane Williamson has been in decent form, and he remains a vital cog in the SRH batting line-up. Tahir, on the other hand, has this knack of picking wickets at regular intervals and especially troubling the right-handers.

Quinton de Kock vs Mustafizur Rahman: Quinton de Kock has done a terrific job for the Delhi Daredevils (DD). He has been scoring freely, and has not hesitated when others around him have looked to score quickly. De Kock’s game depends on strokes around the park, studded with some glorious flicks on the leg side and some powerful cracking drives on the off side. Pitted against the Delhi batsmen will be the left-handed Mustafizur Rahman, who, perhaps, is the best bowler in this IPL. Mustafizur has bowled with great control, and his variations with the ball may hamper de Kock while he will look for another quickfire knock.

Chris Morris versus Yuvraj Singh: These two men are unlikely to have an intense battled one-on-one, but their roles carry heavy responsibilities. While Morris can deal some lusty blows around the park, the veteran Yuvraj has looked to get aggressive as he bats lower in the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) order. Both Morris and Yuvraj can cause serious damage with the ball, and it will be an interesting battle between these two all-rounders.
