Both sides scored 191. Both sides lost 6 wickets. Both sides played for exactly 20 overs. Thus ran the scoreboard of both competing teams — KXIP and RR — at Sardar Patel Stadium at Motera in Ahmedabad on April 2015 in IPL 2015. It was indeed a perfect tie at the end.
A match ending as a tie is an often seen scenario in the shortest form of cricket. There have been a total of 83 ties out of 4,852 T20 matches played till date —roughly a tie every 59th match. When compared to List A matches, the rate of matches ending as tied in T20s is more than double as there is a tied match in approximately every 137thList-A match.
