The Ashes 2015 which recently concluded saw the Australians going down to the spirited English team. The next Ashes is still a couple of years away, but the Australians have started strategising and scripting the English fall in their heads. They have started figuring out their best possible eleven, that will help them get back the urn. Only the eleven players on field however wonât win them the Ashes. They are well aware of the England team’s weakness, which happens to be their tentativeness against sledging. The Australians will make sledging their weapon in the next Ashes battle, and one man is going to help them, who’d also be their 12th man. Meet Henry Blake, the âBorn Sledgerâ, whoâs Australiaâs best chance to regain the Ashes.
Blake is the head sledge writer for the Long Gully Cricket Club in Australia. Heâs never scored a single run or taken a single wicket in his life, but can single-handedly unsettle the opposition team. Heâs a rare talent, blessed with the uncanny talent of getting under the oppositionâs skin through his slegdes from a young age. The ambitious writer has won many a games for his local club side and harbours the dream to one day sledge for Australia.
