VIDEO: When Sheldon Cottrell was denied a wicket after his salute celebration

West Indian pacer Sheldon Cottrell is famous for his salute celebration. He has often been seen giving salute send-off after taking any wicket. But on Saturday night, something very unusual happened after his salute send off.

It happened during the 17th match of 2016 edition of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) between Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP). On the third ball of 18th over of JT s batting, Cottrell bowled a decent good length delivery to Shakib Al Hasan. The Bangaldeshi batsman tried to hit it over fine leg but missed it and the ball went towards wicketkeeper after touching his gloves. Cottrell and wicketkeeper Devon Thomas started cheering and celebrating. Cottrell also did his famous salute celebration but a moment later he realised that umpire Peter Nero had turned down the appeal. Thus, Cottrell s salute went in vain probably for the first time in his career.

Further, JT scored 183, which SKNP couldn t chase as they were collapsed at a mere score of 75.
