Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan and biopics of other cricketers
MS Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin already have their biopics in production and will come out very soon. Indian cricket fans love their cricket. Nikhil Popat ponders over possible biopics for other Indian cricketers.
3 Idiots: 3 Idiots was based on three friends with different skills who came together during their graduation and followed their passion to achieve success. Three such men from of the same school (Chennai Super Kings) in Indian Premier League are Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohit Sharma. All of them have taken their time and have had their fair share of glory moments together, which can surely be framed into a nice motion picture.
Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein: RHTDM was a romantic classic starring Madhavan and Dia Mirza. The story revolves around a guy falling in love with the girl, who has to get hitched to an NRI, followed by the usual Bollywood masala. In cricket, one can relate this to the friendship between Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. It is often referred to as they are like brothers and one can totally imagine Raina saying ‘Raina hai tere dil mein’ to Dhoni for making his career.
2 States: 2 States starred Arjun Kapoor as lead. It is a story about him being confused between his career and personal life, in which he had to bridge people from two Indian states for his future endeavors. Shikhar Dhawan is quite the same, having to cope with his brilliant start with 187 runs on Test debut against Australia to now the meeker version who seems to be struggling for a place in the Test side. His two states of mind can surely make a better viewing for the cricketing fraternity.
Sholay: Sholay, of course, has been “The Greatest Story Ever Told” in Bollywood, based on the friendship of Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra — who fight all odds to emerge victorious. One such friendship that has emerged in recent past has been that between Virender Sehwag and Ashish Nehra. While Sehwag (is it a coincidence that he is nicknamed Veeru as well?) is the chubbier Veeru, Nehra, tall and lanky, suits the persona of Jai.

Band Bajaa Viraat: Band Bajaa Baaraat was the debut film of Ranveer Singh and featured Anushka Sharma. The story was about the young, aggressive yet romantic Delhi boy and the ambitious lady. We all have our answer for the same in cricket. Not going further deep, Virat Kohli suits the bait perfectly and with him now at helm of Indian cricket, all cricket fans want from him is to let his bat do the talking.
Please note this is a humour article — a work of pure fiction!
