VVS Laxman engaged in a round of rapid fire questions to cap off his interview, where he also spoke about Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan. Laxman spoke about what Sehwag and Zaheer were like off the field, while also mentioning certain anecdotes about them. Laxman mentioned which his favourite innings from Sehwag was — 151 against Australia at Adelaide in 2008-09 — and his favourite Zaheer Khan spell — at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, in 2007 — while also going on to give insight into what the two men were like off the field. VVS Laxman is clearly quite close to both Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan. It is a closeness that is palpable. Sehwag, outrageous as he is, is also simple and generous. Zaheer, meanwhile, is the glue that keeps the team together. Laxman spoke of how Sehwag was “like his batting” in that he was simple and straightforward, while Zaheer is someone who an absolute team man. Zaheer was also the man who gave Laxman the confidence to take on the Australian bowling while he scored the epic 281 at Eden Gardens. He was also the one who told Laxman that he would do well ahead of the Feroz Shah Kotla Test of 2008, where Laxman scored an unbeaten 200.
