Top wicket-takers: Jasprit Bumrah (28), Ravichandran Ashwin (23), Rashid Khan (23), Al-Amin Hossain (22) and Amjad Javed (22). Bumrah’s 28 wickets are the highest by any bowler in a calendar year. He went past Dirk Nannes’ record of 27 wickets in 2010.
Right-arm bowlers picked 801 wickets in 2016, the most in any calendar year. The previous best was of 703 in 2012. On the other hand, left-handers had 335, also the most in a calendar year.
Spinners picked up 440 wickets, the most in a year (beating the previous best of 360 in 2012), while pacers had 688, again the highest.
Best figures in a match: Imad Wasim, with 5 for 14, followed by Mustafizur Rahman, with 5 for 22. Imad’s figures are the 3rd best by a Pakistani in T20Is.

Most runs conceded: Bumrah leads this unwanted chart by leaking 527 runs in the year. In fact, the 527 runs he conceded are the highest by a bowler. He went past Umar Gul’s record of conceding 436 runs in 2012.

Wiese conceded 58 runs against Australia. He became the second most expensive South African in a T20I after Kyle Abbott (68 runs against West Indies in 2015).
