Indian boxer Manoj Kumar was knocked out of the 17th Asian Games beaten 0-2 by Japan’s Masatsugu Kawachi in the round of 32 of the men’s light welter (64kg) division at the Seonhak Gymnasium on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, L. Devendro Singh advanced to the quarter-finals of the men’s light fly (46-49kg) division after getting a walkover in his round of 32 match from his opponent Albathali Fahad of Kuwait.
The 17th Asian Games, which will be held from September 19th to October 4th2014 will be held in Incheon, South Korea, which will host an event for the second time in the 21stcentury after Busan played hosts in 2002. The official slogan of the games will be âdiversity shines hereâ. Overall, there will be 49 venues and 48 training facilities across the city of Incheon.
