AB de Villiers: The most popular South African celebrity on Twitter

South Africa’s One-Day captain AB de Villiers is known for his breath-taking batting for which he carries the reputation of being the best batsman in the world. He possesses a unique ability to score runs all around the wickets and when on song he’s unstoppable.

Apart from his on-field domination, de Villiers comes across as one of the nicest guys and most humble guys, and therefore he enjoys a huge fan following.  As reported by PTI, de Villiers is standing at the top in the list of South African celebrities with the greatest number of Twitter followers.

This list also features his current teammates JP Duminy, Albie Morkel and Faf du Plessis. The list also included Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis. The list consolidated by a media company named BlackSmokeAgency shows de Villiers with 2.68 million followers and narrowly beat famous comedian Trevor Noah — 2.63 million followers.

Graeme Smith stands at fifth position with 905,000 followers followed by Jacques Kallis with 849,000 followers. From the current South African cricket team, other than de Villiers, du Plessis (778,000 followers) is holding the eighth position with JP Duminy (769,000 followers) and Albie Morkel (754,000 followers) at ninth and 10th place.
