Apple CEO Tim Cook mesmerised by IPL experience

The famous Green Park stadium in Kanpur hosted its first Twenty20 (T20) game and it was also the match that was played under lights there. Expectedly, it was very hot but the stadium had a special guest. Apple Inc’s CEO Tim Cook was at the venue, watching the game alongside IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla and Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. The heat did get a bit unbearable and Cook made no qualms to admit the same.

“It is tough to watch the game in this heat but I have never felt anything like this before. I see how important cricket is, how important sport is. India is hugely important. It is a great market place. India has an incredible future ahead. I am very optimistic,” he said.

However, calling it “incredible”, Cook said, “It is incredible. I am already hooked on to it.”

The 55-year-old Apple boss had earlier paid a visit to Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai and met business tycoons Cyrus Mistry from Tata and Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani. He also attended Shah Rukh Khan’s party at his residence. Co-incidentally, he the SRK-owned Kolkata Knight Riders’ match was the first IPL game that Cook watched.
