Brad Haddin defends sledging the ‘nice’ New Zealand players

Australian wicket-keeper batsman Brad Haddin is a renowned for not only his skills behind the stumps but also his colourful vocabulary​. And on Sunday​,​ the New Zealand team got a taste of his bitter medicine​ of the latter​. (READ: Australia vs New Zealand final in Melbourne in caricatures)

During the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 finale Haddin involved in confrontations with Kiwi batsmen Martin Guptill and Grant Elliott. Along with the two, veteran spin bowler Daniel Vettori received hard send-offs from the hostile but pumped Australian team. Haddin said the BlackCaps ‘deserved it’ for they were too nice to them when the two teams clashed in Pool A match on February 28 at Eden Park which New Zealand won by a wicket.  (Read: Michael Clarke: Bowing out of the ODI arena like a true champion)

The World Cup final was New Zealand’s maiden appearance while Australia were playing their fifth, which they won by seven wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
