South African cricketer AB de Villiers has said that the fuss and controversy regarding the nature of the pitch in the ongoing Test series against India doesn't affect him but their performance has been a big disappointment. South Africa lost the Mohali and Nagpur Test where wickets fell like nine pins whereas the Test at Bengaluru didn't conclude a result due to incessant rains. The visitors were high on confidence after conquering the Twenty20 International (T20I) and One-Day International (ODI) series.

De Villiers maintained that the nature of the wicket is not a matter of concern as both the team batted on the same wicket. South Africa's poor outing in the Test series is the reason behind their loss.

De Villiers also admitted that his team had a lot of opportunities in both the games that they lost but failed to capitalise on it. Though he accepted that Nagpur was a bit tough to bat on, but the key was application. They are now eyeing for a better performance at Delhi and prove everyone that they are well capable of winning a Test in Indian conditions.
